Current Amplifier Modules are current-to-voltage conversion devices used to amplify a small current from a photodiode or photomultiplier with very low noise. Our Standard, Low Noise, USB Controlled, and High Speed versions are available with variable gain functionalities. The standard version features three switchable gains and a bias pin to allow a reverse bias voltage in series with the photodiode. The Low Noise amplifier is a two stage, low-noise amplifier with switchable AC/DC coupling, adjustable bias voltage offset, and a 10Hz lowpass filter. The High Speed model also features AC/DC coupling in addition to an adjustable offset for baseline correction, adjustable bias for use with fast photodiodes, and a switchable 10MHz and 1MHz low pass filters.

The USB Controlled Current Amplifier (#34-789) is designed for precise measurement of current from pA to mA, and features both digital and analog signal processing allowing for both USB and DB25 control. Each USB Controlled Amplifier includes an SDK for ease of system integration, a GUI that actively controls gain ranges, bandwidths, and polarity, as well as a LabVIEW® VI example. These Current Amplifier Modules have BNC input and output connections for easy integration between the Data Acquisition System’s Terminal Block or oscilloscope and detector, ensuring effortless system design and configuration when used with detectors with a BNC connection.
