Focusing (Concave) Mirrors

Concave mirrors, also known as focusing mirrors, are ideal for applications that require efficient light collection and reflection to a focal point. Unlike lenses, concave mirrors do not introduce chromatic aberration, making them highly effective in precision imaging systems, beam shaping, and illumination setups.

Edmund Optics offers a wide selection of concave mirrors with either spherical or parabolic surface profiles and a variety of durable metallic coatings. Choose from Aluminum for enhanced reflectance in the UV and visible spectrum or Gold for high performance in the near-infrared (NIR) and infrared (IR) regions. Protected coatings improve environmental durability and long-term performance. Parabolic concave mirrors are especially useful when minimizing spherical aberration, and off-axis designs allow light to be focused away from the incident beam path—ideal for applications requiring beam steering or separation.
