Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) Accessories

Edmund Optics offers GigE cables, interface cards, and PoE accessories that are compatible with our GigE machine vision cameras. These accessories simplify system setup, are ideal for long-distance camera connections, can connect multiple cameras to one computer, and support speeds from 1 Gbit/s up to 10 Gbit/s. All GigE cables feature standard RJ45 connectors and support cable lengths up to 100 meters

Maximum data speed is only achieved when all components, including cameras, cables, interface cards, switches, and routers, support the highest speed. Otherwise, the system will operate at the lowest speed supported by any connected components.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) simplifies installation by delivering both power and data to the camera through a single Ethernet cable. Standard PoE supplies up to 15 W, PoE+ up to 30 W, and PoE++ up to 60 W. When selecting PoE accessories, verify that the injector, switch, router, or interface card provides sufficient power for the connected camera.
