Mike Middleton Mike Middleton

Mike Middleton is the Operations Manager at Edmund Optics Florida. Mike joined Quality Thin Films in 1997, which was acquired by Edmund Optics in 2020. He is an expert in thin film design specializing in IR coatings, dichroic coatings for VIS/NIR, and low-loss multi-band AR coatings. His well-balanced background makes him knowledgeable about all aspects of thin film coating from the cleanroom, to the coating chamber, to quality assurance. He is a Six Sigma Green Belt, lean manufacturing certified, and a United States Air Force veteran. Mike studied Engineering at West Virginia University.

James Karchner James Karchner

James Karchner is a Sales Engineer for Laser Optics and Defense Applications at Edmund Optics’ Barrington, NJ headquarters. With Edmund Optics since 2018, James has more than 2 years of experience developing custom optics solutions for laser optics and defense customers. His background includes more than 4 years of infrared spectroscopy research on biological tissues, which resulted in several publications. James holds a B.S. degree in Bioengineering from Temple University.
