    Wire Grid Polarizers

    Wire Grid Polarizers are ideal for applications that need high extinction ratios, high operating temperatures, or wide bandwidth ranges from the Ultraviolet (UV) to the Infrared (IR). Wire Grid Polarizers are used to polarize light by transmitting only a specific polarization state. These Polarizers feature an array of microscopic wires on a glass substrate which selectively transmit P-Polarized light while reflecting S-Polarized light.

    Edmund Optics offers a large selection of Polarizers, including a variety of Wire Grid Polarizers designed for optimal performance in the Ultraviolet (UV), Visible, or Infrared (IR) spectrums. Edmund Optics’ Wire Grid Polarizers are constructed by applying a thin layer of aluminum MicroWires to a glass window. Infrared (IR) Wire Grid Polarizers are ideal for polarizing light from Infrared (IR) laser sources, or for attenuating light from polarized Infrared (IR) lasers. Edmund Optics’ Infrared (IR) Wire Grid Polarizers, available as holographic or ruled Polarizers, are available in a variety of substrates.
