The linear position sensor module combines a duo-lateral position sensing detector (PSD), transimpedance amplifiers, and sum/divider circuitry in a compact package convenient for laboratory or general use. The module is an ideal tool for applications involving beam alignment, metrology, and targeting. The detector measures beam displacement on two axes and generates normalized displacement signals ranging from –10 to +10 volts. The values are independent of beam size and intensity and are accurate to within 1% over the central 64% of the sensing area. The signal, output via an included BNC breakout cable, can be analyzed with an oscilloscope or Data Acquisition System. The SUM signal, proportional to the total power on the detector, is also output for reference. Cable also has three banana jack leads for easy integration with the #57-059 ±15V power supply.
The module is easily mounted via a 1/4-20 tapped hole, centered on the underside of the assembly. 25mm and 1" diameter filters can be mounted directly to the unit on the front bezel plate. The maximum filter thickness is 6.0mm. An optional power supply is available to provide the necessary ±15V DC to the module.
