Edmund Optics offers ESKA® acrylic fiber optics developed and manufactured by Mitsubishi. We offer these fibers in two grades, both with superior optical properties for improved transmission. The core of both is made of acrylic polymer PMMA (polymethyl-methacrylate) and is sheathed with a special thin layer of fluorine polymer which has a lower refractive index than the fiber core.

Optical Grade Fibers and Light Guides: These fibers were designed to provide higher transmission in the visible region of the spectrum. They can be used for a wide range of applications, from general industrial light guides to short distance data transmission. Optical grade fibers are capable of transmitting light as far as 80 meters. The fiber is tough and flexible, but is not designed to bear loads.

Note: Price listed is per foot - minimum order is 10 feet per stock number. 3mm Fiber is lower grade Eska® fiber for commercial applications only.
