This laser power meter is a must for a wide array of applications, from bio-stimulation to telecommunications. These handheld units have an extremely wide flexibility and are very user-friendly.
Three detector heads are available for laser power measurement – UV (200 to 1100nm), Visible (350 to 1100nm), and Near-IR (800 to 1800nm). In addition to the photodiode heads for individual wavelengths, we offer heads for measuring the output of broadband light sources. The radiometer detector head has spectrally flat response from 400 to 1000nm and therefore can give the true total power of any broadband light source in that spectral region. The photometer head has a spectral response similar to that of the human eye and can therefore make measurements in eye response units of Lux. The photometer head is designed with a small detector where the source overfills the detector. It measures the light intensity per unit area in units of Lux or Foot Candles.
The laser power meter recognizes the pre-calibrated detector head when it is attached. Detector heads can be oriented over a 180° angle and come with an attachable 0.5" dia. x 2.25" L post, 0.875" OD / 0.5" ID post holder, and 3" x 4" sliding base for breadboard mounting. Note: Socket Head Cap Screws not included. Heads also include removable calibration filter.
Functions of the power meter are controlled via menu options on the LCD display that can be controlled by the “Menu” button or three “soft” buttons below the LCD. User navigates through desired menus to select various pre-defined operations. The High Performance version (#58-359) offers the ability to store up to 54,000 data points on-board in 10 files, a high-resolution screen with a selectable digital or analog display, and several additional features.
Meter housing is molded high-impact plastic with kickstand and EMI conductive shielding to allow use in proximity to pulsed lasers. On/off switch on left side. Supertwist LCD display has switchable electroluminescent backlight (active from power charger only), contrast adjustment, and large 12mm digits. User manual and battery charger included. Unit also comes with N.I.S.T. traceable certificate of calibration in accordance with ISO 10012-1.
Optional RS232 adapter for standard meter #55-642 allows a 9600-baud connection between the laser power meter and the user’s computer via a 1.5m long cable. Interface software is included and is LabVIEW® compatible.
Note: Complete system requires a detector head and laser power meter #55-642 or #58-359.
