Both Infrared (IR) and Ultraviolet (UV) handheld monocular devices employ a proprietary high resolution image converter and photocathode arrangement to produce a visible image from invisible radiation. Precision coated achromatic objectives and eyepiece give these quality instruments a wide variety of potential uses. Additionally, the ¼-20 tripod mount in the base of the handle allows constant positioning and increased utility. All models are made of rugged polycarbonate and aluminum and have both momentary and constant on settings.
Video/Visual IR Viewer features: simultaneous viewing, removable C-mount lens (see additional lenses), BNC connector on side to connect directly to video monitor via BNC cable, wall unit power supply and 9V Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd) battery.

IR scope applications include optical fiber alignment, film development in photo labs, light emitting diode (LED) inspection, laser alignment, study of laser beam patterns, and surveillance/investigation.
UV scope applications include UV lithography, photorefractive keratotomy (PRK), excimer/UV laser analysis, fiberprint detection/analysis, and liquid crystal display (LCD) annealing.
