Featuring Zeiss’ unique ICS-Optics™ (Infinity Color-Corrected System) technique, these objectives achieve outstanding color correction throughout their entire wavelength range of 340-1000nm. The revolutionary design corrects for lateral chromatic aberration (LCA) in the tube lens, relieving the objective completely from LCA correction and reducing the required number of elements in the objective. Their high transmission of wavelengths from the near UV range (>40% starting at 340nm) and the use of glass types of low autofluorescence makes these objectives ideal for fluorescence microscopy. Each objective is designed for a 164.5mm tube lens focal length and features a 45mm parfocal length. Mounting thread: RMS (0.8" x 36TPI).
#58-395 and #58-452 accessory Tube Lenses can be used to focus light from the infinity-corrected objective onto the image plane. For optimal performance, the distance between the tube lens and the objective’s shoulder should be kept within 110±8mm and 130±8mm, respectively. This spacing allows accessories such as filters and beamsplitters to be inserted in the optical path to accommodate specific needs. #58-538 InfiniTube lens connects to these objectives via #53-786 RMS adapter.
