These Basler CMOS cameras offer all the advantages of CMOS technology and the IEEE-1394 / FireWire standard in a compact package. Available in VGA or Megapixel resolutions, all CMOS camera models offer frame rates beyond typical analog and digital cameras. Due to the advantage of having the charge and analog-to-digital conversions carried out at pixel level, the A601f CMOS camera module can accomplish full-field frame rates at 60fps, while the A602f can operate at 100fps. With the addition of the new A622f, higher resolutions can be attained. The A622f CMOS camera features a look up table (LUT) and off-chip A/D converter to remove noise and improve the sensor’s image quality. These CMOS cameras are designed to be a cost-effective, multi application unit with such uses in manufacturing quality control, semiconductor and electronics inspection, food and beverage inspection, microscopy, biometrics, etc. In addition, the modules offer several features, including AOI (area of interest) scanning and test images. The latter feature is mainly for service and failure diagnostics and can be used to test the camera’s image output functionality. Triggering is accomplished externally through a 10-pin RJ-45 jack or through a “free-run” mode internally. Each unit comes complete with an instruction manual. Both monochrome and color CMOS cameras are available. Software can be downloaded for free.
The pylon driver package is designed to operate with all Basler cameras that have an IEEE 1394a, IEEE 1394b, or the new GigE Vision interface. The pylon driver offers reliable image data transport into the memory of your PC at a very low CPU load. The integration of both interface technologies into your application is a one time only process. The unified C++ camera API of the pylon driver package lets you control Basler’s IEEE 1394 and GigE Vision based cameras using the same commands. The internal architecture of the pylon package is based on GenICam, which offers you fast, easy access to the newest camera models and the latest features as soon as they are released.
