Summary
The Senior Programmer Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining the applications software and systems that support the company. The Senior Programmer Analyst plans, organizes, and controls analysis of Core Business application requirements and development of procedures for implementation, programming and/or maintenance of software. The Senior Programmer Analyst develops and maintains the system and programming needs to support the Departments and different business disciplines.

Duties

  • Plans, organizes, and controls analysis of Core Business application requirements and development of procedures for implementation, programming and/or maintenance of software.
  • Oversees system analysis and programming activities needed to support or upgrade current systems and programs
  • Designs, implements, and analyzes software required to support Core Business applications.  Assists and coordinates efforts with other IS functional business areas in developing policies and procedures and implementing controls for both software/hardware requirements.
  • Ensures consistent and cohesive operation of IS functions by performing general management of IS staff, including planning and controlling expenditures within budget limits, resolving personnel issues, executing individual IS support staff performance reviews, working with and controlling contract programming resources & hardware and software vendors where necessary.
  • Recommends changes and upgrades to IS related hardware and systems software to meet growth needs of the company.
  • Designs, implements, and analyzes software required to support browser based applications.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years experience in IS mainframe systems - Operations and/or Programming areas
  • Management experience a plus with solid management philosophy
  • Experience in catalog sales fulfillment operation a major plus
  • Excellent communications skills required
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Production & Inventory Control area, including the following financial processes:
    • Relationships to Bill-of-Materials
    • Vendor / Buyer analyst and measurements
    • Inventory Management subsystems (Inv. Movements, Receipts & Adjustments)
    • Work / Purchase orders subsystems
    • Shop Floor Activities
    • Distribution Center Activities
    • Knowledge of MRPII / ERP systems a plus
    • APICS certification a definite plus
    • Marketing concepts
