Summary
Be a part of Edmund Optics’ success by doing your part as a Machinist 1 in our Machine Shop by performing setup and operation of both simple and complex jobs on all manual machine shop equipment.

1st shift: 6:45 am – 3:15 pm; 2nd shift 3:15 pm – 11:45 pm

Duties

• Setup and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders and all other manual machine shop equipment.
• Produce simple and complex high precision machined parts.
• Operate and set up complex measuring equipment to measure parts accurately.
• Work effectively from complex specifications on drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Make proper adjustments to machine shop equipment to achieve proper machining operations.
• Assemble tools as necessary.
• Ability to inspect own work using a variety of complex and simple measuring equipment and methods.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 10 years tool making experience or Journeyperson certified.
• Understand all aspects of reading complex blueprints.
• High-level math skill competency desired.
